Contest Guidelines

Theme: Underwater Worlds

Completely open for interpretation. There are so many things that could be found under water other than the obvious…. GET CREATIVE!

All Competitors must be registered online at www.JacksonvilleFair.com/metal

Deadline to register is November 2nd, 2026

All submissions must be dropped off and checked in at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds Main Office (13601 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32221) during the following days/times:

Thursday October 29 10a to 4p

Friday October 30 10a to 4p

Sunday November 1 10a to 5p

Monday November 2 10a to 5p

Judging will occur on Thursday, November 5th

The winners will be announced on JacksonvilleFair.com by 6pm on Sunday, November 15th.

1st Place Winner will receive $850.

2nd Place Winner will receive $400.

3rd Place Winner will receive $250

“People’s Choice” winner (public voting) will receive $150

Art must be an original and creative work of the registrant.

Art must have been created any time after 1/1/2026

Maximum 3 entries per person

Contestants are encouraged to use scrap/recycled metals

Whether you cut, shape, drill, weld, solder or glue… as long as your primary medium is metal (80%+) it counts.

Metal can be painted

Submissions will be kept inside and safe from rain and other outdoor elements.All copyright laws must be followed in the creation of the design.

Submissions must be one continual piece, not multiple pieces unconnected.

Movement is allowed but not required. Moving parts are permitted provided they do not affect the integrity of the piece or create a safety hazard.

Submissions must be bigger than the minimum size of 6” in any direction

Sculptures must be self-standing (either on a table or on the floor)

Anything that is to be hung must have a hanger or hook that is durable enough to support the weight of your piece.

Anything hanging must not exceed 10lbs

All submissions must have the following information securely taped or tied onto it: “Metal Art Competition”; Artists Name; Artwork Title; Approximate Hours to Make; School (leave this one blank if you are not in school). This information will be removed from the piece and used to create Name Tags for the Exhibit.

Art can be picked up on Monday November 16th between 10a-3p.

Any art not picked up by Thursday November19 will become property of the Jacksonville Fairgrounds.
