Ag Venture is an educational program sponsored and promoted by the Greater Jacksonville Agriculture Fair, the Duval County Farm Bureau, Duval 4-H, and Duval County-UF/IFAS Extension to teach third grade students of Duval County about the importance of agriculture and to develop an understanding of the impact of agriculture on their everyday lives. Students will learn about dairy and beef cattle, traditional and aquaponic techniques for growing plants, bees and candle-making, embryology and hatching chicks, and backyard chickens. Experts in these areas will present facts and knowledge about their area of expertise. Students will leave with a greater understanding of where their food comes from and an appreciation for the work of these food producers.
