NEW - ALL JUDGING CONTESTS: At the conclusion of each contest, the contest supervisor will have a form that must be completed by the individual winners. This form will require their name, address and SS#. A winner who fails to supply their social security number will forfeit all premium money for that contest. Registration will begin 30 minutes prior to each contest with the contest immediately following. For location and time, check the specific section of this Show Catalogue / Premium Book for the contest you wish to enter.
Why do we require personal information? Between the rabbits, poultry, eggs, various 4-H & FFA Contests, the Horse Show, and Open and Youth Livestock Shows, it is highly probable the majority of our entrants will earn multiple premiums. It is virtually impossible to sort through the many entries after the fact and go back to request information before checks can be written and premiums mailed.
How do we dispose of this information? Entry forms are kept in our office. When they are no longer needed they are shredded.
A reminder when registering for the Horse and Dog Show: You must include a Coggins Test along with your fee for the Horse Show. Although a fee is not required for the Dog Show, you must include your dog's Rabies Certificate with your registration form.
THE MODIFIED DANISH SYSTEM OF JUDGING WILL BE USED
The order of shows will be determined by the number of animals entered in each breed and will be posted at the Livestock Office the day of the show. NOTICE: Please have your animals ready at the start of the show, a class will not be delayed because you are not ready.
ELIGIBILITY: Entries shall be restricted to bona fide 4-H and FFA members ages 8-18, who have not graduated from high school. Divisions shall be as follows. Junior Division, ages 8 to 10 - Intermediate Division, ages 11-13 - Senior Division, ages 14-18. as of September 1st, 2010.
RECEIVING: Youth Cattle and Sheep will be received Tuesday, November 2nd, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, November 3rd, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. All animals entered in the Greater Jacksonville Fair MUST have a current health certificate.
RELEASE AND REMOVAL DATES & TIMES: Youth animals may be removed after 9:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6th. Animals staying to show in a specific Open Breed Show will be released when those breeds are released.

A member may enter no more than three animals per show (Beef and Sheep) unless bred by the exhibitor. This must be indicated as such on the entry form. Registration papers on registered animals and proof of ownership for non-registered animals must be available at check in. All animals must have been owned and cared for by the 4-H and FFA members at lest sixty- (60) days prior to the opening of the Fair.
There shall be separate classes for each of the major beef breeds provided there are two animals per breed and sex. If there are not two, the females will be moved to commercial class, and the bulls will not be allowed to show. Only registered bulls may be shown. Commercial or non-registered females will use registered classes.
SHEEP AND MARKET LAMB IDENTIFICATION: Three seperate exhibitors are required for a show. All sheep must meet the new identification requirements mandated by the USDA. They must have a tattoo or ear tag and be registered with the Florida USDA, APHIS or VS OFFICE.
